Despite companies around the world speaking out in support of racial justice in light of cases like Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, systemic racism within the workplace won’t be resolved in one news cycle.
In 2015, The Atlantic did a great article on this topic. It opened with “Being a person of color at a predominantly white workplace creates its own special kinds of stress.” It’s not just discrimination, it’s also psychological. How “black” you show up determines how much your impacted.
